The original bean that started it all, Hodmedod’s Split Fava Beans.

Nurtured by British nature, the Split Fava Bean has been grown in the UK since the Iron Age but often forgotten on our plates until today! Leading the charge for the humble Fava bean Hodmedod’s heroes it’s delicious nutty flavour and soft texture. Part of the broad bean family, Hodmedod’s have done the hard work for us and peeled it’s outside skin making cooking them that bit quicker and easier!

Cooking instructions: Take the Hodmedod’s Split Fava Beans, rinse in a sieve until the water runs clear. Pour in a saucepan and leave to soak for 2 hours in cold water to soften them. For a delicious butter taste & crisp texture, take a frying pan, add a tbsp of oil and when hot pour in the fava beans to cook for 6 mins.

Serving suggestion: Versatile and easy cooking means they’re perfect for those comforting winter stews or fresh summer lunches. We love them mixed in a roasted vegetable salad for a Summer lunch or made into a dip for flatbread dipping.

Storing instructions: Store in a cool dry place.
