Hodmedod's Split Yellow Peas


Satisfyingly creamy, introducing Hodmedod’s Split Yellow Peas.

Adding body and depth to all our favourite dishes split yellow peas are a popular pulse, but little do people know it’s grown in the UK! Farmed across the UK, aptly named a field pea, it’s the brother to the green split pea and packs a plant-based protein punch. Earthy flavour and soft texture, it’s ideal for vegetarian dhal’s through to crispy fritters… we know, this is making our mouth water too!

Cooking instructions: Take your Split Yellow peas, rinse in a sieve until the water runs clear. Boil a 750ml pot of water on the hob, add the peas and season. Bring the water down to a simmer and cook for 40 to 45mins until the peas start to melt together. Add more water when cooking if needed.

Serving suggestion: It’s creamy and smooth texture make it perfect for warming vegetarian dhals, but it’s also a great addition to a winter chicken soup or for combining with other vegetables to create a veggie burger for summer BBQs!

Storing instructions: Store in a cool dry place.
